Merian Odesho founded Bounce Curl, a company that is dedicated to making hair care products for curly hair. She is also the CEO and Formulator of the company. She makes cruelty free products using natural ingredients. Since childhood, Merian’s entire family has always taught her to use natural products for hair care. Her grandmother is her biggest source of inspiration. She used to develop hair care routines for her during childhood. In fact, it was her due to which she got inspired to start her own haircare brand. Merian’s grandmother made special and secret hair care formulas with the help of ingredients such as Black seed oil. Merian recalls how she used to visit her back yard and scrape aloe vera out of plants, boiled flax seeds and then made hair gels out of them.
She launched Bounce Curl back in 2015 all on her own. They had no investors at that time. “My company has grown with a brand that is now recognized in over 100 countries. I am very proud to be a woman-owned business (and a Middle Eastern woman-owned business)”, added Merian. She is a very responsible person and makes sure to launch only clean and tested products. This includes identifying carcinogens that cause cancer, hormone disruptors and allergens. Being the cosmetic formulator herself, Merian is very specific about meeting the high standards of product quality. “I examine and approve every single ingredient and the quality of those ingredients. I actually begin the formulation and production process at home and then in the lab on a larger scale. I am committed to using better ingredients in Bounce Curl products”, added Merian.
