But none of this would be possible without the people behind the scenes. DJ Almighty (PD), DJ Joi Iyce (Mixshow Coordinator), and Kawani “Que the plug” Belk (Marketing Director/Producer) have all contributed to the team’s ongoing efforts to improve. The whole management team has undoubtedly discovered high-quality stuff.

Sherrell Rowe and Jo Iyce in the Morning

DJ Jo Iyce, co-host of Radio One DC’s “The Clean and Dirty Podcast” and “Hot in my City,” can be seen spinning every week at the top DMV nightclubs and his mix-show on WKYS 93.9 every Friday. DJ Jo Iyce is a professional DJ who has worked with some of the most well-known personalities in the music and entertainment industries, including Future. He has continued to tread new ground throughout his intriguing career by making amazing songs and acquiring more knowledge.

Sherell Rowe, co-host of The Morning Show, is a composer, vocalist, and creative arranger who has made measures to secure her position in the music business. Sherell was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to a Marine Corps father. She traveled around a lot as a youngster due to his job, so she was exposed to various cultures and music. Sherell utilizes them as sources of inspiration for her music.

Sherell Rowe, a 2010 Dark Planet Record EP, showcases her ability. Which was dubbed “Hands down, one of the greatest ventures of the decade.” He was named “Best Alternative Artist” at the 2011 DMV Award and has worked with various musicians. To mention a few, Wale, Raheem Devaughn, and Fattal. She and her long-time friend DJ Jo Iyce are collaborating and can be heard on “Jo Iyce in the Morning with Sherrell Rowe” every week, from 6 – 10 a.m., Monday through Friday. Laila and Bri’s Block Party

Laila Lopez quickly found her spot on the radio after being chosen from thousands of applications to be an on-air performer with the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Laila maintained her career after leaving the Steve Harvey Morning Show by joining 107.9 The Dirty Boys.

Laila has since worked on various high-end platforms, including Sirius XM and TMZ. Before finding a home with the 101jamz crew. “The Block Party with Laila and Bri!!” she currently co-hosts. The connection between these two was instant, and there has yet to be a boring moment.

Bri Ariel, Laila’s co-host, is a Chicago native. She started the profession when she was just 15 years old! Bri adapted fast and learned her way around the business while playing a key role in the female group she was a member of.

She went to college in her native state of Illinois, where she majored in fashion merchandising and company marketing. As a result, she relocated to Atlanta in search of a corporate position. She earned a part in a YouTube short film in Atlanta, which renewed her interest in the entertainment business and drove her to Hollywood.

Bri fearlessly took on LA alone on the west coast, gaining a spot on the famed podcast “IZM Radio.” The podcast’s devoted audience unanimously chose Bri. Even though IZM was her first exposure to radio, she was the missing jigsaw piece the team had been seeking for. Providing genuine and relevant energy that draws in listeners.

Bri aimed for the stars and never ceased kindling the flame. Her involvement with the IZM radio program led to her co-hosting not just a long-running show but also reality shows for herself and a traveling business show that featured Black-Owned Businesses. Bri began alone in an unfamiliar region, but she has made one of the most coveted places to live her home through effort and charm.

Follow Bri and Laila, @mslailalopez, @bri.arier, and never miss an episode of their program. “Every Saturday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., join Laila and Bri for a block party.” As I have said, it seems that they never skip a beat; they get the sensations exactly perfect. Are you all set for a Block Party?

Chey Parker’s Midday Connection

101Jamz, on the other hand, does not end there. Chey Parker is 101Jamz’s lunchtime personality. Every weekday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., she takes over the airways, following Jo Iyce and Sherrell Rowe. She is also a regular on 93.3WKYS, where she’s being heard from Fridays through Sundays.

Parker is a media personality and entrepreneur who has spent over a decade working as a writer, editor, producer, and on-air performer. Chey, originally from Hampton, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science from Howard University in 2013. She has worked with major media institutions such as C-SPAN, the British Broadcasting Company, Radio One, IHeartMedia, and PBS. She was named to Vice’s DMV Top 35 Under 25 list in 2019 for her professional accomplishments and industry efforts.

But Chey isn’t only about the media. She is presently a lead communications expert at Deloitte Services LP, one of the world’s top accountancy and consulting organizations. She supports strategic communications for the firm’s high-priority business marketing activities. Chey also owns Sacred n’ Sophisticated Glamour, a premium lifestyle and apparel company that will relaunch in 2022. Follow Chey on Twitter @iamcheyparker to remain up to speed on the Launch.

DJ Almighty of Smash City Radio

DJ Almighty is another fantastic member of the 101Jamz family. Born in Brownsville, Brooklyn, and reared in the east Brooklyn pink house projects. Almighty lived in New Jersey until the late 1990s, then moved to Virginia in 1998, where his aspirations came true.

“I come from a family that produces noise in the streets,” he says, referring to his father, Joseph “DJ Peter Jeter” Middleton, and his uncle Gerard “The Disco,” both of whom were jammers on the streets of Brooklyn. Almighty was introduced to the hip-hop scene by legendary DJ Watkins, who introduced him to the Fat Boy’s Prince Markie D, Whodini, Salt n Pepa Jaz-o, and Fresh Gordon. He found Spinderella of Salt n Pepa, yet he is not properly acknowledged.

After traveling to Virginia and obtaining a slot on WNRN’s The Boom Box 91.9 FM in Charlottesville, VA, Almighty was able to make it on his own. He currently lives here, owns, and manages the radio station 101.3 Jamz. He also co-founded the Charlottesville Urban Festival’s spirit with local pals. Follow him @djalmighty on Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and Facebook.

SHOWS IN THE MIX

What about the weekends, though? I get what you’re saying. Don’t worry. DJ Radio Mix Show has you covered. Every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., DJ Ms. Carter, Coalition DJs, and Jonny Kaine (@jonny.kaine) deliver the heat with uninterrupted bops. The music is upbeat and keeps the celebration going all weekend.

Chris Thomas’ Show

Not only that, but a new program starring Chris Thomas will premiere in July 2022. For one thing, I can’t wait till Saturday morning, which is maybe the strangest thing I’ve ever uttered.
